A K Mehta chairs ‘Industry connect meet’-Himayat at Jammu


JAMMU, DECEMBER 21: Financial Commissioner, Finance Department, Arun Kumar Mehta, today chaired ‘Industry Connect Meet-Himayat 2020 organised by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
Principal Secretary, Power Development and Information Departments, Rohit Kansal; Joint Secretary Skills, Union Ministry of Rural Development, Leena Johri; Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda were also present on the occasion.
Financial Commissioner, while speaking on the occasion, said that this industry connect meet shall serve as a platform towards deliberations and carving out pathways for securing right skill development opportunities and placements for youth of J&K besides realising the goals of the programme.
Mehta said that Himayat aims to provide jobs in the private sector to the unemployed youth of J&K by equipping them with market-relevant skills. He said that Himayat Mission Management Unit, J&K Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) has been entrusted with the facilitation and monitoring of Himayat programme in J&K.
Rohit Kansal said that the power sector has vast potential to provide job placement for unemployed youth under Himayat programme including Data Entry Operators, Tower Installations and Meter Readers.
Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda said that DDUGKY follows a 3-tier implementation model and the primary tier is the Central Technical Support Agency (CTSA) that functions as the policy-making, technical support, on behalf of MoRD. She said that the next tier is the Himayat Mission Management Unit (HMMU) which directly supervises and engages with implementation agencies.
Among others Director, Skills Sahrudaya Healthcare Private Limited, Neeraj Lal, Associate Director, Manpower Group Services India Private Limited, Shrishaliya Pathak, Secretary, SLC Education Society, Satyanarayana, CEO, Apollo Medskills Limited, Pulijala Srinivasa Rao, Vice President Lernet Skills, Colonel M M Shah, National Head, Datapro Computers, Private Limited, Manoj Gouda, Head HR Operations, Sodexo India, Sandeep Kumar, Co-Founder & Director, Ma Foi Group, Latha Rajan, Cluster Director Hyatt, Tirtha Roy Choudhary, CEO Power Sector Skill Council, Ravi P Singh besides other concerned officers of Himayat J&K were also present in the programme.
