DGP sanctions Rs. 80 lakh special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel

Over rupees 46 crore special welfare relief sanctioned in 2020

Jammu Jan 15 (KINS): Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 80 lakh as Special Welfare Relief for NoKs of four deceased police personnel.

In a statement issued to news agency KINas, the police said, “The special welfare relief of rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased personnel SI Mohd Ashraf, HC Vir Vikram, Sgct. Sandesh Sing and Foll. Mehraj-ud-Din.

Rupees one lakh each has been already paid to the families/ NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund”.

“Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families including NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.

Pertinent to mention that during the previous year 2020, rupees 46.45 Crore was distributed as special welfare relief among the NOKs of 298 deceased police personnel/SPOs”.(KINS)
