DGP J&K sanctions scholarship, special reward of over Rs. 8.56 lakh in favour of 106 wards of martyred, deceased & serving Police personnel/SPOs

Jammu, 01 February: Continuing with its effort to encourage and boost the morale of the wards of martyred, deceased & serving Police personnel/SPOs, the Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarships and special reward of over rupees 8.56 lakh in favour of 106 wards.

The DGP has sanctioned over rupees 5.50 lakh for 76 wards of martyred/deceased Police personnel for the academic year 2019-20 out of Central Police Welfare Fund to encourage and boost their morale. Rupees 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of five wards of martyred Police personnel who are pursuing post graduation and rupees 10000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 29 wards of martyred Police personnel studying in different classes from 11th upto graduation. Rupees 6000 each have been sanctioned in favour of ten wards studying in different middle classes and rupees 2400 each has been sanctioned in favour of six wards studying in nursery and primary classes. While rupees 5000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 26 wards of deceased Police personnel who are pursuing education in different classes

He has also sanctioned special reward of rupees 10000 each in favour of 22 wards of serving Police personnel/SPOs for qualifying different Competitive Examination during the year 2019-20.

Vide order No. 222 of PHQ meritorious scholarship of rupees 82000 has been sanctioned in favour of eight wards of serving Police personnel. Rupees 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of four wards and rupees 8500 each in favour of four wards for securing 80% and above marks in the annual examination of Graduation/ Post Graduation during the academic year 2019-20.

The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund. Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, welfare loan/ relief for police personnel, wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
