Eid-ul-Adha arrangements finalised at Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JULY 08( KINS ): On directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Ghulam Hassan Sheikh convened a meeting of sectoral officers to finalise the arrangements for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, here.

The ADC on the occasion passed directions to Assistant Director, CAPD to ensure availability of adequate stock of food grains and other essentials like Kerosene Oil and LPG during the festival days. He pressed for intensifying the market checking to avoid inconvenience to people on account of overcharging and profiteering by the traders/sellers.

He directed the Municipal authorities to conduct special sanitation and cleanliness drives especially at Jamia Masjids and Shrines besides ensuring proper functioning of street lights.

The meeting was informed that Sheep and Animal Husbandry Departments would respectively make Sheep/Goats and Poultry Birds available at reasonable rates at different places of the district.

The ADC asked the SDMs to ensure compliance to Covid-19 protocols and CAB at Shrines/Jamia Masjids and sale Mandis of the district. He also called for taking adequate measures to frequently sensitize the masses in this regard.

During the meeting, the ADC enjoined upon officers of PHE and KPDCL to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity respectively besides keeping water tankers and DG sets available to cater any exigent need.

Similarly, Fire and Emergency authorities were asked to remain alert and ready on eve of Eid and also establish additional fire fighting tenders at Shrines and Eidgahs.

Along with sectoral officers, the meeting was attended by ACR, police authorities and other concerned officers. ( KINS )
