More than 300 people participate in “Run for Unity” on Kargil Vijay Diwas in Poonch  

 

Poonch  Jul 26 ( KINS) Around 300 youths attended the “Run for Unity” organised on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas by the Indian Army in Poonch  on Monday.

 

Defence spokesman said that on the occasion of the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas, Indian Army’s Poonch Brigade organised the “Run for Unity” in which around 300, mostly young people participated.

 

The participants came from nearby villages of Kausaliyan, Gulpur, Noorkote, Degwar, besides boys and girls from sports complex Poonch, children from Bal Ashram, Poonch and soldiers of Indian Army and BSF.

 

“Run for Unity” T-Shirt and participation certificate was presented to each participant.

 

Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and several retired porters who have dedicated their life in the service of the nation were also present on the occasion.

 

They were felicitated with blankets and shawls.

 

The event was a testimony to the fact that people even from the remotest part of the country stand united for the country’s unity, said the spokesman. ( KINS)
