Jammu Traffic Police Issues New Year’s Eve Traffic Advisory: Prioritize Safety on the Roads

Jammu, Dec 31: As the countdown to the New Year begins, the Jammu Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory, urging citizens to prioritize safety on the roads during the festive celebrations.

In a bid to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and minimize the risk of accidents, the advisory emphasizes the need for responsible and cautious driving. Motorists are urged to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations, including speed limits and traffic signals.

On Saturday, the Traffic Police in Jammu issued guidance to the public attending New Year’s Eve events at hotels and establishments, urging them to utilize designated parking spaces and avoid random roadside parking.
Revelers are advised to park exclusively at nearby specified locations to prevent unnecessary traffic jams and congestion on the roads. Strict measures will be enforced against activities such as drunken driving, overspeeding, stunt biking, reckless driving, and dangerous driving. Special attention is directed towards stunt biking, with a clear warning against engaging in such activities that jeopardize both the individual’s life and the safety of others.

In the event of any emergencies or for traffic-related assistance, individuals can reach out to the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) in Jammu at the phone numbers 0191-2459048 and 94191-47732. The Traffic Police emphasizes the importance of responsible behavior on the roads during New Year celebrations to ensure a safe and enjoyable transition into the upcoming year.
The advisory highlights the deployment of additional traffic personnel at key junctions and busy areas to manage the anticipated increase in vehicular movement during the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Stringent action will be taken against any violations, with a focus on driving under the influence and reckless driving.

“With New Year festivities in full swing, it’s crucial for everyone to make safety a top priority on the roads. We have enhanced our presence across the city to manage the traffic flow effectively,” stated a spokesperson from the Jammu Traffic Police.
The Jammu Traffic Police is committed to ensuring the safety of all road users during this celebratory period. The advisory serves as a reminder to welcome the New Year responsibly, with a focus on creating a secure and accident-free environment on the roads. Let’s ring in the New Year with joy and safety!
