D&FCO issue notice to 24 retail, wholesale dealers, closes 7 in central Kashmir

 Srinagar, Jul 29 ( KINS )The Drugs and Food Control Organization (D&FCO) on Thursday issued show cause notice to 24 retail and wholesale establishments and ordered closure of 7 others on the spot for various violations in central Kashmir districts of Badgam and Srinagar.

//IAn official spokesman said this afternoon that //ID&FCO during a special drive conducted at Srinagar and Budgam inspected 50 drug sale establishments and issued show cause notices to 24 Retail and Wholesale establishments of which sevem were closed on spot for various violations.

The action was taken against the erring drug establishments for contravening certain clauses of Drug and Cosmetics Act including maintenance of sale and purchase records, not storing drugs properly, unhygienic conditions of premises and non-issuance of bills and cash memos.

Meanwhile, the inspection was carried out by D&FCO on the directions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to curb the Psychotropic and Habit forming. And in this regard various teams have been constituted to carry out comprehensive market checking of drug sale establishments of district Srinagar and Budgam.

During the drive thorough inspections were conducted and on spot instructions were issued to the license holder’s for strict adherence to the conditions of the license. The Chemists were asked to maintain sale and purchase records of various drugs properly, to maintain storage conditions of the drugs as per their requirement and issue bills and cash memos regularly.

They were also sensitized to retain the photocopy of the prescription wherein Schedule H1 and Psychotropic drugs have been prescribed for record and reference purpose so that mis-use of such drug is minimized. ( KINS )
