DC Kupwara takes stock of flood damage

KUPWARA, JULY 30 ( KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din along with DDC member Hyhama, Haji Sona Ullah and concerned Officers today visited various flood affected areas including Goose, Khumriyal and Chairkoot to take stock of the damages due to heavy rains and flash floods.

The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned engineers at Khumriyal to make estimates within two days under SDRF.

At Chairkoot, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned engineers to utilize Panchayat funds to clear the drainage system.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people not to encroach the roads, nallahs and drains in the respective areas, as the encroachment is the basic cause of these floods and water logging.
