Deputy Commission Anantnag handsover livelihood unit and Anroid phone to person with disabilities

Anantnag , Aug 6 ( KINS ) :In a simple ceremony organised by Humanity welfare organisation HELPLine Deputy commissioner Anantnag Dr piyush singla in presence of Chairman Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline (HWOH), Javed Ahmad Tak, handed over a self-employment unit to a severe disabled person, sponsored by Aroon Raman a donor from South India. The projected is being implemented by the Humanity welfare organisation HELPLine NGO under its Mission Livelihood for Persons with Disablities. Under which the organisation has already empowered 25 youth with disabilities who are running their livelhood units. In the second phase around 8 persons with disabilities will be given such units.
In addition an android phone was handed over by the Deputy Commissioner to class 8th student to continue her education through online mode whose mother has been facing hearing disability and the family had no means to purchase a phone. The phone was donated by staff members of the orgqnisation and team UNICEF
.Dr piyush Singla hailed the efforts of the NGO and expressed hope that the organisation would continue to work for empowerment and welfare of youth with disabilities of district Anantnag.
Javed Ahmad Tak founder chairman of Humanity welfare organisation HELPLine presented vote of thanks to the Deputy commissioner Anantnag for giving few moments from his busy schedule. He requested the Deputy commissioner Anantnag to include persons with disabilities in all developmental activities like education, sports, capacity building and other activities. Barriers segregates us from reaching all corners of the Deputy commissioners office Anantnag thus Accessibility through construction of ramps, elevators is needed for safe mobility of persons with disabilities, Tak added
Shujahat Farhan shah coordinator of the programme said that general public should come forward to help the youth with disabilities in starting their own initiatives rather than giving charity. The donors approach our organisation and sponsor unemployed youth with disabilities. The youth with disabilities willing to start own livelihood units can approach us and if they are found elligible and deserving after verification and assessment, they will get the opportunity to hold such units.
