Rajouri encounter: Search operation resumes to nab hiding militant

Jammu, Aug 7 (KINS ) The joint teams of Police and Army have relaunched searches to nab a hidding militant in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces on Friday had gunned down two unidentified militants in the forests of Thanamandi.

“As per intelligence inputs, one militant is still ‘holed up’ and is hiding in the woods. We have launched the search operation after intermittent firing in retaliation was stopped last evening at the encounter site,” police sources said.

So far no fresh contact is established, they said.

On Friday, security forces launched searches in the forest area of Thanamandi after credible inputs were received regarding presence of militants.

Soon a gun battle occurred and two unidentified militants were eliminated who belonged to proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Two AK 47 rifles with seven magazines, four grenades and packets of medicines were recovered from the possession of eliminated militants.
