Martyrdom of Imam Hussain teaches to uphold principles of human dignity, justice: LG

Srinagar, Aug 19 (KINS ) Remembering martyrs of Karbala on the occasion of Ashoora — the 10th day of Muharram, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions has a unifying message for all of us to uphold the high principles of human dignity and justice.

Mr Sinha also urged people to follow the path of righteousness, courage and truth and prayed for sustained peace and prosperity in J&K.

The LG hoped that the occasion would further strengthen the bond of brotherhood among all communities. “Remembering martyrs of Karbala on the occasion of Ashoora.The martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) & his companions has a unifying message for all of us to uphold the high principles of human dignity & justice. I urge people to follow the path of righteousness, courage & truth,” Mr Sinha wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

“On this day, I pray for sustained peace and prosperity in J&K and hope that the occasion would further strengthen the bond of brotherhood among all communities,” he added.
