COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage in India exceeds 96.43 Cr

Recovery Rate currently at 98.06%, More than 8.43 Crore vaccine doses still available with States/UTs


Srinagar, Oct 13 (KINS): With the administration of 50,63,845 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, the government wednesday informed that India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 96.43 Cr (96,43,79,212).

The government also said that the recovery of 22,844 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,33,42,901.

“Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.06%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020,” the government said as per news agency KINS.

“Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 108 consecutive days now.

15,823 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently 2,07,653, which is the lowest in 214 days.Active cases presently constitute 0.61% of the country’s total Positive Cases”.

“The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of

13,25,399 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 58.63 Cr (58,63,63,442) cumulative tests” it said.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.46% remains less than 3% for the last 110 days now.

“The Daily Positivity rate reported to be1.19%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below3% for the last 44 days and below 5% for 127 consecutive days now”.

The Union Government has also said that it is committed to accelerate the pace and expand the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.

“The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st June 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs”.

“More than 97.79 crore (97,79,37,495) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

More than 8.43Cr (8,43,76,070) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered” it said.(KINS)
