Stories of bravehearts who saved Kashmir in 1947 to part of school syllabus from the next year

Srinagar, Oct 27 (KINS) Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the stories of bravehearts who saved Kashmir in 1947 would be part of school syllabus from the next year.

Sinha was speaking during the celebration for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and 75th year of Air landed operations of Indian Army at Budgam Airport. A re-enactment of history was carried out at the old Air Field during the function.

I am surprised as to why the story of this barbarism has not reached the people. Why were the people not told about the evil deeds of Pakistan Why are the stories of Maqbool Sherwani, Major Somnath, Brigadier Rajinder Singh and Lt Col Rai not told to the students in schools, Sinha questioned.  I want to tell you today that these stories will be part of the school syllabus from the next year. It is our responsibility to bring these stories of the brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation to every student.

Sinha said it was not a tribal raid 1947, but they were jawans of Pakistani Army in the disguise of tribals who murdered our innocent brothers.

..I think there is a need to correct the history. The truth is that they were jawans of the Pakistani Army in the disguise of tribals who murdered our innocent brothers, burnt our houses and raped sisters and daughters.  People will have to understand the truth that our neighbour has not become a synonym of terror today. It has been working since the Independence to breed terrorism, he said.

Sinha said Pakistan’s nefarious attempts are still going on and there is a need to :stay alert always for the country’s honour and  save the life of every citizen of J&K.

The Lt Gov people of J&K need to unite and raise their voice to give a powerful blow to those powers which want to stop the development of J&K and to create hurdles in the peace .

When the Army gave supreme sacrifices in safeguarding J&K (in 1947), the people at that time raised the slogans of hamlawar khabardar hum kashmiri hai tayar (beware attackers, we Kashmiris are ready). I request the people of Kashmir that it has been your slogan and today, there is a need to raise this slogan once again  to give a powerful blow to the powers which want to stop the development and create hurdles in the peace in J&K, he added.( KINS)
