Asgar Samoon for thrust on imparting skilled knowledge

BUDGAM, Oct 29 ( KINS): Principal Secretary, Skill Development, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today inaugurated Industrial Training Institute (ITI), at KITE campus Rangreth in Budgam.

Speaking on the occasion, Samoon said that parents should not compromise on education of children and focus should be given on imparting skilled knowledge. He said that there are 300 courses of ITI available and youth should be counselled to opt for skilled courses.

Samoon said that more than 300 girls have been given scholarships under PMSSS and other related schemes while a target of covering 1500 students from J&K under scholarship schemes for their advanced education has been fixed for this year.

He gave thrust on imparting skilled knowledge to the students so that they can utilize it towards choosing their vocation for their livelihood. He said that ITIs and Polytechnics provide vast opportunities to students to prosper in their lives.

Emphasizing on industrial partnerships and setting up of placement cells, he said that the government would train four lakh J&K youth under various ITI and Polytechnic courses. He said 1000 labs have been opened at schools and thrust is being given on starting skill courses at all colleges in the UT.

Earlier, Principal Secretary along with Chairman KITE, Mohammad Shafi Qureshi and other senior faculty members inspected various blocks of the college.

He interacted with staff and stressed on making it great seat of learning for the students.( KINS)
