Ranjan Prakash visits Shopian; reviews developmental works

 

SHOPIAN,  Oct  30 ( KINS) : Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, today visited Shopian and held a review meeting with officers of various departments to assess status of ongoing development works besides taking stock of implementation of other schemes in the district.

Principal Secretary, who is also the Administrative Secretary in-charge of Shopian district, had a detailed review of functioning of  Rural Development Department, Horticulture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Labour, Animal and Sheep Husbandry besides other line departments.

He asked the officers to work in tandem to identify and quantify the sector specific needs and developmental potential of the district based on natural and human resources. He emphasized them to work towards empowering people through promotion of entrepreneurship. He observed various departmental shortcomings and directed officers to rectify constraints in scheme implementation and work execution. He asked for giving importance to rural economy and facilitating employment of labour in rural areas under flagship employment guarantee scheme MGNREGA.

District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, briefed  in detailed about various schemes being implemented by different departments in the district.

Later, Thakur inspected hi-tech Agriculture Polyhouse and macadamization work on various roads of the district.

Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Principal Government Degree College, Joint Director Planning, SDM Zainapora, Executive Engineers, CMO, CEO, DYSSO and other district officers were present.( KINS)
