DDC Shopian reviews skill targets for Development Mission

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 11 ( KINS): The District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the skill targets for Development Mission of the district here at Mini-Secretariat Arhama Shopian.

DDC said that the Skill Development Department (SDD) has a pivotal role to play in providing skills to the youth to overcome the problem of unemployment in the district and also to meet the aspirations of people. He said that skill development of youth is priority of the government and many initiatives are being taken up in this regard.

The DDC directed the concerned officers to work with utmost dedication to ensure employment of youth by way of imparting requisite proficiency. He impressed upon the officers to take effective measures for achieving the skill target and to make the scheme grand success in achieving set targets. He also emphasized upon them to optimally utilize the experience and knowledge of precious training programmes so that maximum targets would be achieved. He asked them to focus on modern training modules to create a skilled work force as per the market demand, and further directed them to track the aspirants after training is imparted to them so that they would get employed which is the basic aim of the scheme.

On the occasion, the experts also threw light on some major issues and initiatives that need to be redressed in future and to make the youth of the district motivated towards various skill of line departments and also to create management and learner-based environments.

Among others the meeting was attended by the Joint Director, Planning, Khursheed Ahmed Khatana AD, Planning, Touseef Ahmed Trainer, Neeraj Jee and the officers and officials of all line departments besides district and sectoral officers and officials. ( KINS)
