145 doctors, 130 MBBS students & 130 paramedics tested positive for COVID in GMC Srinagar & associated hospitals in 15 days

Srinagar, Jan 16 (KINS): A major health crisis is brewing in Kashmir after 145 doctors, 130 MBBS students & 130 paramedics tested positive for COVID in GMC Srinagar & associated hospitals in the last 15 days.
One of the officials here in the GMC told news agency KINS that Most of them have mild symptoms. “Almost everyone has received COVID Vaccines. No hospitalization. However they are in isolation and hopefully shall report back in a week’s time,” the official said.
The official said that Hospitals are most frequented places by infected persons. “Visit hospitals only in case of emergency.
No need to visit your near and dear ones admitted in hospitals or isolated/ quarantined at homes,” the official appealed people.
He said that they are waiting and watching. “There is a huge patient influx. Patients do not wear masks and we have to examine them. We have to examine the throat and nose in the ENT department. Doctors have to examine eyes in the Ophthalmology department. Plus doctors have to examine the chest. There is risk everywhere,” the official said.(KINS)
