Srinagar, July 05 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) continued its dedicated service during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, carrying out multiple rescue and medical assistance operations to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims on the yatra route.
At Panjtarni, an Amarnath pilgrim sustained a right leg injury after falling from a horse. The SDRF Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) responded immediately, evacuating the injured pilgrim to the Medical Camp at Panjtarni for necessary treatment.
At Pissu Top, SDRF personnel rescued a pilgrim who complained of a severe headache and breathing difficulties. The yatri was promptly shifted to the Army Medical Camp at Pissu Top for timely medical care.
On the third day of the yatra, SDRF personnel also provided physical assistance and moral support to a fatigued pilgrim en route to the Holy Cave, enabling the devotee to continue the pilgrimage and complete the Darshan.
In another incident, the SDRF Mountain Rescue Team, in coordination with the SSB Mountain Rescue Team, rescued a pony handler who fell from his pony and sustained injuries to his face and leg. After administering immediate pre-hospital treatment and stabilising him, the teams safely evacuated the injured handler to the nearest medical facility.
Meanwhile, an SDRF Mountain Rescue Team deployed at the Holy Cave provided immediate first aid to a female pilgrim suffering from fatigue and breathing difficulties. She was later shifted to the Medical Camp at the Lower Holy Cave for further medical treatment.(KINS)
