FSSAI conducts marketing checking ahead of Eid ul Azha in Srinagar

 

Srinagar July 05:  In view of the ensuing Eid ul Azha market checking has been intensified by the Food Safety wing of Drugs and Food Control Organization as on Tuesday the inspections were carried at Bemina, HMT Zanikoot, Qamarwari and all its adjoining areas.

During this drive, many food manufacturing units were inspected and improvement notices are being issued to five among them. Some bakery, confectionary and mutton products processed under unhygienic conditions worth approximately Rs. 20,000/- were destroyed on the spot.

The date of manufacture, use-by date, ingredients, nutritional information and temperature controlled system in the display panels were also checked.

Food Business operators especially Bakers, Chicken sellers and Butchers were directed to maintain high level of hygiene within their premises otherwise action under relevant provisions of Food Safety & Standards Act shall be initiated against them The drive shall continue during the days to come
