Dept of Posts celebrates National Sports Week

Srinagar Aug 25: Department of Posts, Jammu & Kashmir Postal Circle has been celebrating National Sports Week from August 21 to 29.

As part of the National Sports Week programme Saturday an event of Table Tennis was held in Srinagar General Post Office.

The event was kick started by Col Vinod Kumar, Chief Postmaster General J&K Circle by taking pledge with the staff members in Srinagar GPO Complex.

On the occasion Col Vinod Kumar apprised the staff members about the importance of sports in life to stay fit both physically and mentally. He urged the staff to spend at least one hour daily on exercise and encourage their colleagues, families and neighbors to indulge in such activities. Col Vinod Kumar informed that as part of National Sports Week, intradepartmental Cricket match is also being organized on the final day of National Sports Week.

During the event numerous participants/players attended the Table Tennis. The event was attended with Sports fervor and the awards were distributed among the participants of the Table Tennis event.

In the event Javaid Ahmad Haji, Supdt of Post Offices Srinagar Postal Division, G R Bhat, Postmaster Srinagar GPO, G M Shah, Assistant Director Postal Services were also present.
