Dr Jitender Singh & MORTH Minister Nitin Gadkari Strategize on Enhancing Connectivity in Doda: Ongoing Progress at Khellani Segment of NH-244, Plans to Link Remote Villages Highlighted

Srinagar, Dec 21: Union Minister Dr. Jitender Singh, engaged in a comprehensive discussion with Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH), regarding the advancement of ongoing work at the Khellani segment of the new National Highway NH-244.
The meeting held special significance as it aimed not only to review progress but also to strategize on extending accessibility to remote villages in the district of Doda.
Dr. Jitender Singh, known for his proactive approach towards regional development, took a keen interest in understanding the intricacies of the ongoing construction activities in the Khellani segment.
Singh commended the efforts made so far and stressed the importance of expeditious completion to ensure the region’s seamless integration into the national transportation network.

A key highlight of the meeting was the in-depth discussion on providing accessibility to villages such as Kalhota, Humbal, and Bergana. Recognizing the significance of connecting these remote areas, both ministers deliberated on the formulation and execution of connecting road links that would link these villages with the vital National Highway NH-244.

The proposed road links are anticipated to be a game-changer for the local communities, offering them improved connectivity and reducing travel time to and from the region. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of fostering balanced and inclusive growth across all regions, irrespective of their geographical remoteness.

Dr. Jitender Singh and Nitin Gadkari assured the local residents of Kalhota, Humbal, and Bergana that the government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the nation. The planned road links are expected to not only enhance the daily lives of the residents but also pave the way for enhanced economic activities, education, and healthcare facilities in these areas.
