Sopore Police Arrests Drug Peddler, Seizes Psychotropic Substances in Ongoing Anti-Drug Drive

Srinagar, Feb 05: In its relentless crusade against drug trafficking, Sopore Police has apprehended a drug peddler and confiscated psychotropic substances from his possession.
A police team from Police Post Putkha, under the leadership of IC PP Putkha, intercepted an individual carrying a bag at a checkpoint established at Chek Hygam crossing. Upon searching the bag, authorities discovered 3168 capsules of SPASMOPROXYVON Plus. The individual, identified as Faisal Altaf S/O Altaf Ahmed R/O Krankshivan Sopore, has been arrested and transferred to Police Station custody.
Subsequently, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo, and investigative proceedings have commenced.
Sopore Police urges the public to promptly report any instances of drug peddling or other criminal activities by contacting the nearest police establishment or dialing 112. The cooperation of the general populace is crucial in the collective effort to eliminate the scourge of drugs from society. Rest assured, the police will rigorously enforce the law to combat criminal elements.
