IGP Kashmir Chairs Security Review for Mehraj-ul-Alam and Upcoming Events

Srinagar, Feb 07:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, VK Birdi, chaired a comprehensive security review meeting today at the Police Control Room Kashmir.
The meeting, attended by officers from police, intelligence agencies, and security forces, aimed to bolster law enforcement efforts and ensure public safety ahead of the auspicious occasion of Mehraj-ul-Alam and other forthcoming events.

During the session, V.K Birdi was briefed on existing security measures and actions taken against terrorist associates and disruptive elements across the valley. Emphasizing the importance of preemptive measures, the officers were directed to generate actionable intelligence to thwart any attempts by anti-national elements to disrupt peace.

Traffic arrangements for the convenience of the public were also reviewed, with instructions given to deploy adequate manpower. The necessity to fortify the security grid to prevent potential terror attacks and maintain seamless coordination among various forces was underscored.

Proactive policing strategies, leveraging technology for crime prevention, and strengthening community engagement initiatives were discussed in detail. Additionally, measures to combat the drug menace by actively targeting drug peddlers were emphasized.

The meeting, attended by various dignitaries including DIGs from BSF, IRP, and CRPF, concluded with a commitment to implementing discussed strategies effectively and maintaining close coordination among all stakeholders to address present and future law enforcement challenges.
