DC visits Mechanical Field Sub-Division Kulgam Takes stock of availability of machines, Department’s preparedness for snow clearance

KULGAM, FEBRUARY 18: To oversee preparedness for snow clearance and availability of machinery, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today visited Mechanical Field Sub-Division Kulgam.
During the visit, the DC took a detailed stock of availability of snow clearance machines, snow clearance plan and functioning of control rooms.
AEE Mechanical Engineering Department briefed the DC about the availability of machinery and added that there are 24 machines available with the department including 2 snow cutters.
He also informed that they have established Snow clearance control rooms at Chawalgam, Kulgam and Bathipora, and the department is clearing 554 Kilometer road length with 377 Kilometers priority 1st and 177 priority 2nd roads.
With regard to positioning of machines it was shared that 5 machines are kept at D.H Pora control room for Snow clearance in Noorabad area.
One machine is pre-positioned for Kund area and 14 machines are in ready mode for rest of Kulgam stationed at Chawalgam.
The DC instructed officers to keep all men and machinery ready to ensure timely Snow clearance from all roads to avoid any inconvenience to people.
Accompanying the DC were ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Mushtaq Ahmad Lone and other officers.
