Jammu Witnesses Impressive 71.91% Voter Turnout in Lok Sabha Elections Phase II

Srinagar, Apr 27: The second phase of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha Elections concluded peacefully in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, with a remarkable tentative voter turnout of 71.91%. Despite scorching temperatures, enthusiastic voters from Jammu, Samba, Reasi, and Rajouri turned out in record numbers, reflecting their unwavering commitment to democracy.

Polling took place across 2,416 polling stations, with 1,364 stations webcasted live, and over 15,000 polling staff ensuring smooth operations. Chief Electoral Officer Pandurang K. Pole closely monitored proceedings from the UT level Command and Control Center in Jammu.

Basic amenities were provided at each polling station, including provisions for inclusive voting such as booths managed by women, specially-abled individuals, and youth. Additionally, 12 green polling stations were established to promote environmental awareness.

Chief Electoral Officer congratulated first-time voters and thanked all participants for their enthusiastic engagement, along with the dedicated polling personnel for successfully conducting the second phase of elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
