Srinagar May 09 (KINS): Once considered a bastion of the National Conference, the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency is likely to witness a triangular contest.
Unlike in previous elections when the voting percentage would remain low, the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, which comprises Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, and Pulwama, is expected to see a better voting percentage in this election.
In 2019, there was only a 13% voter turnout. The National Conference leaders have represented the constituency for the maximum number of times. NC president Farooq Abdullah is currently the MP from the Central Kashmir Lok Sabha seat.
Although there are several candidates, the main contest seems to be between Aga Rahullah of the National Conference, PDP’s Waheed Parra, and Apni Party leader Mohammad Ashraf Mir.
