Srinagar, May 19: Director General of Police, J&K, R.R. Swain made a lightning visit to the District Police Headquarters in Shopian, where he held a meeting with senior officers of the army, CRPF, and police.
During the meeting, they analyzed the enemy’s plans to disrupt the democratic process, including devious schemes for selective targeting and disrupting economic activities aimed at harming employment and income. Localized steps to counter these threats were devised.
Accompanied by IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi and DIG South Kashmir Altaf Ahmad Khan, DGP Swain also reviewed the night domination actions of the security forces, particularly in the Pahalgam axis. He promised a tough crackdown on OGWs and local terrorists aiding foreign terrorists, emphasizing that the force of the law will be brought upon these elements severely to protect community interests. Security leaders asserted that facilitators providing support to terrorists will face severe consequences and find it hard to hide and escape.
