NDA Meeting at PM Modi’s Residence Begins as Allies Seek “Key Portfolios”

Srinagar, June 05: A pivotal meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is currently underway at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence.
This gathering comes on the heels of the NDA’s decisive victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections, securing an absolute majority with 292 seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alone clinched 240 seats, reaffirming its dominant position in Indian politics.
Despite this triumph, the Congress-led INDIA bloc emerged as a strong opposition force, capturing 234 seats. The ongoing meeting at PM Modi’s residence is expected to focus on strategies for forming the new government and setting the agenda for the upcoming administration.
Insiders report that NDA allies are actively seeking plum portfolios in the new cabinet. The coalition is poised to formally claim its mandate to govern, with preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi’s third term already in motion.
The ceremony is likely to take place on the evening of June 8 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the new cabinet members will also take their oaths, signaling the official start of the new government.

The discussions in today’s meeting are critical, as they will shape the future governance and policy directions of the NDA government.
