Srinagar, Aug 17: Northern Army Commander, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, along with the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Chinar Corps, visited South Kashmir to review the counter-terrorism grid and assess the prevailing security situation.
During the visit, Lt Gen Kumar received detailed briefings on the Soldier-Citizen connect and the current state of operational readiness in the area. In a speech addressing the troops, he lauded their dedication and professionalism, which have been crucial in sustaining momentum in counter-terrorism operations. “Your unwavering efforts and dedication to national security are highly commendable,” Lt Gen Kumar stated. “I encourage all ranks to continually refine their tactics in response to emerging threats while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism.”
A significant aspect of the visit was the focus on strengthening the relationship between soldiers and civilians, a critical factor in ensuring long-term peace in the region. “Our success is not solely determined by operations, but also by how we engage and support the people of the region,” emphasized Lt Gen Kumar.
The GOC of Chinar Corps reinforced these sentiments, acknowledging the troops’ resilience and discipline. “Our soldiers have demonstrated exceptional commitment under challenging conditions, and their role is vital in preserving peace and security,” he said.
The visit concluded with Lt Gen Kumar felicitating the troops for their exemplary performance and stressing the importance of vigilance as security forces continue to evolve in response to changing threats in the region.
