18 Girl Students, Teacher Injured As Excursion Bus Meets Accident In Kashmir

Srinagar, July 3: At least eighteen girl students and a teacher were injured after a school excursion bus they were on board met with an accident at Lar Bypass area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Reports reaching said that the bus registration number JK15-5460 was carrying students and staff of Government Middle School Pehtkoot Check Watrigam Bandipora to a picnic.

The accident occurred when the bus on its return from Sonamarg reached near Repora Lar Byepass, and skidded off the road.

In the incident, 18 girl students and a school teacher were injured who were moved to nearby hospital for treatment.

A senior doctor at the health facility told  that 18 injured girl students and a male teacher were received by the hospital.

Among 18 injured, the doctor identified ten students as Parveena (14) daughter of Jameel Ahmad Mughal, Tasleema (12) Daughter Of Ruvaid Ahmad, Arizoo (16) Daughter Of  Rafeeq Ahmad Gojer, Naseema (13) Daughter Of Shabir Ahmad Gojer, Aabida (12) Daughter Of Mohmad Sarwer Gojer, Nasreena (11) daughter of Sarafraz Ahmad, Jameena (13) Daughter Of Abdul Rashid, Mehnaaz (14) Daughter Of Mohd Amin Khan, Kulsuma (13) Daughter Of Showkat Ahmad Khan, Shubeena (14) Daughter Of Sarafraz Khan, All Residents Of Check Watrigam, Bandipora. The school teacher has been identified as Mohammad Yousuf (36) Chopan Son of Mohd Abdullah of Panzalpora.

Five among the injured include Aabida, Tasleema, Mehnaaza, Jameena Bano and Parveena were referred to district hospital Ganderbal and two other injured Kulsuma and Shubeena were shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.

A police officer of the concerned police station told  that a case under FIR 35/2019 under section 279, 337 RPC was registered and further investigations were taken up. (GNS)
