DIG SKR Anantnag Reviews Election Preparedness in Kulgam

Srinagar, Sep 06(KINS):: DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR), Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, visited Kulgam district to assess the security situation and readiness for the upcoming Assembly Elections-2024. A high-level meeting was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kulgam with senior officers from Kulgam Police, the Army, and the CRPF.
SP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal-IPS, presented a detailed overview of the security arrangements, including enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, plans for candidate security, strong room management, and transportation and communication strategies. The efforts of Special Surveillance Teams (SSTs) and Flying Squads (FSTs) were also discussed to ensure seamless election conduct.
The meeting was attended by key officers from the CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and local police. DIGP SKR emphasized the importance of strengthening the security grid, addressing threats from OGWs and ANEs, and ensuring peaceful, incident-free elections. He urged officers to remain alert and implement strict security measures across the district.(KINS)
