Srinagar, Sep 13 (KINS): People’s Conference (PC) President Sajjad Gani Lone said that his party may align with a secular alliance, rather than a communal one, after the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS), Lone expressed confidence that his party would either win 10-12 seats or be the runner-up in those constituencies in the upcoming assembly elections.
“Pre-poll alliances often cause harm, as votes do not align properly. After the assembly polls, we will either form a secular alliance or remain out. We will not join a communal alliance,” Lone remarked at the India Today Conclave, without naming any specific party.
He also suggested that New Delhi was conducting various experiments in Kashmir and stated that he has no “godfathers” in the capital.
During the parliamentary elections, the BJP had supported the People’s Conference and the Apni Party in Kashmir. (KINS)
