Srinagar, Sep 15 (KINS): Army’s 10 Sector Commander, Sanjay Kannoth, stated that the forces successfully neutralized three terrorists in Baramulla district on September 13, following specific intelligence inputs about the movement of unidentified terrorists in the Chak Tapar Kreeri area.
He expressed respect and reverence for the army personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice during an earlier operation in Kishtwar, Jammu Division.
“I express my deep respect and reverence for our brave colleagues who made the supreme sacrifice in the highest traditions of the Indian Army in the operation in Kishtwar of Jammu Division yesterday,” he stated.
“The army had been receiving inputs for some time about possible terrorist movements in Baramulla district. Acting on specific intelligence received on September 13, the forces initiated an operation in Chak Tapar Kreeri. An encounter ensued between the forces and the terrorists, who had taken cover in a disused building. The operation was carried out with precision to avoid collateral damage to civilians and property”.
“The operation continued in the morning when our troops in a very professional manner engaged the terror and neutralized them without causing any collateral damage to civil life or property. Three terrorists were neutralized in this and a huge amount of war-like stores were recovered,” Kannoth elaborated.
He further emphasized the operation’s significance as a major success for security forces and a “substantial disruption of Pakistan’s alleged designs in the Kashmir Valley”. (KINS)
