NC-Congress will form Govt in J&K: Omar Abdullah ‘PM & other world leaders must put pressure on Israel to stop innocent killings’

Arshad Farooq

Srinagar, Sept 29 (KINS): National Conference (NC) Vice President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, confidently asserted that the next government in Jammu and Kashmir will be formed by the JKNC- Cong alliance.
Abdullah dismissed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) claims of forming the government in the region, asserting that there was no chance for the BJP to succeed in the upcoming elections.
“No government will be here other than NC and Congress,” Abdullah said during his interaction with reporters in Baramulla, as per news agency KINS.
He criticized the BJP for its poor governance and lack of development in Jammu and Kashmir over the past five years, emphasizing that the people have been left disappointed.
In addition to addressing local political concerns, Abdullah called on the Indian government to play a more active role in international diplomacy, particularly in conflict zones such as Gaza and Lebanon.
“The Indian Prime Minister and other world leaders must put pressure on Israel to stop the killing of innocent civilians in conflict areas like Gaza and Lebanon,” he said.
When asked about the BJP’s recent accusations that the NC’s agenda could disturb the stability of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah hit back, accusing the BJP of being responsible for the rise in militancy and violence in the region. “The militancy in Jammu, whether it is in Reasi, Kishtwar, or Pir Panjal, has worsened due to the carelessness of the BJP government. Even the attacks on yatris happened during their regime,” Abdullah remarked as per KINS, holding the ruling party accountable for the region’s security failures.
Abdullah further lambasted the BJP for its failure to bring ‘tangible improvements to the lives of the people in the Union Territory’. “In the last five years, the BJP has done nothing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. There has been no development, no jobs, and basic needs like electricity and ration remain unfulfilled. This is why they are resorting to attacking the NC and Congress—they have nothing positive to show,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that the NC and Congress coalition would restore Jammu and Kashmir to a path of progress. Outlining his party’s plans for the future, Abdullah promised significant reforms aimed at improving the lives of citizens. “When we form the government, we will provide 200 units of free electricity and create one lakh jobs within the first few months,” he pledged.
He also vowed to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that recruitment processes, including that of the Director General (DG) posts, are transparent and corruption-free. “We will deliver a government that works for the people, not against them,” Abdullah concluded.(KINS)
