Fire breaks out in historic government building in Anantnag, no injuries reported

SRINAGAR, Oct 11: A fire erupted on Friday afternoon in a historic three-story government building in Mattan Chowk, Anantnag district, damaging its attic section, according to officials.

The blaze ignited around 2 PM, prompting a swift response from the Fire and Emergency services, which dispatched several fire tenders from nearby stations to combat the flames. Fortunately, the fire was brought under control, and there were no reported injuries.

The affected building houses a large commercial shopping center, storage areas, and residential quarters for government employees. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
