Omar Abdullah stakes claim for Govt formation in J&K, Oath taking likely on Wednesday

Srinagar, Oct 11 (KINS): National Conference’s chief ministerial nominee, Omar Abdullah Friday evening met LG Manoj Sinha to stake claim over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
After meet LG, Omar said he submitted support letters to LG for government formation.
“It will take some time to complete the process. The oath taking is likely to take place on Wednesday,” Omar said, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).
The NC and Congress contested the recent assembly elections together and are now set to form the government.
A total of 873 candidates participated across 90 constituencies—47 in Kashmir and 43 in the Jammu region. The vote count, which took place on October 8, saw the National Conference (NC) emerge as the leading party with 42 seats, followed by the BJP with 29, Congress with 6, JKPDP with 3, and smaller parties and independents winning the remaining seats.
NC leader Omar Abdullah is poised to become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. (KINS)
