Srinagar, Oct 27 (KINS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has rolled out a large-scale membership drive across Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to expand its base and strengthen grassroots connections throughout the Valley.
In a statement issued to news agency KINS, BJP said that Arif Raja has been appointed as the Membership Drive Incharge for Kashmir Valley, coordinating efforts to ensure the drive reaches households across all districts.
“BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul inaugurated the campaign in Srinagar and Budgam, while other district incharges launched it in their respective areas. Manzoor Bhat, a senior BJP leader, has been named the Membership Drive Incharge for Srinagar, and a workshop held by BJP Srinagar announced additional constituency incharges, attended by District President Ashok Bhat and former MLC Shahnaz Ganie”.
During the event, Koul highlighted the party’s remarkable growth in past membership drives in 2014 and 2019, which established the BJP as the world’s largest political party, surpassing even the Communist Party of China.
“The BJP has encouraged all individuals over 18 to join as primary members by calling the designated number, 8800002024. This membership drive, part of the national Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024 led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President JP Nadda, showcases the party’s commitment to connecting more deeply with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and strengthening its regional impact”.
