Weather to turn unsettled in J&K from May 3; farmers advised to pause operations

Srinagar, May 01 (KINS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a detailed weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, indicating a mix of dry conditions and intermittent rainfall over the coming days, with a more active weather phase expected between May 3 and 5.
According to the forecast, May 1 will remain generally dry, though brief spells of light rain may occur at isolated places during the afternoon. On May 2, scattered areas may witness light rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds later in the day.

A significant change in weather is expected from May 3 to 4, with generally cloudy skies and one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at most places. Thunder, hailstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 km/h are likely at a few locations.

On May 5, scattered areas may again receive brief spells of light rain or thundershowers in the afternoon. Between May 6 and 9, the weather is expected to remain largely dry, although brief showers at isolated places cannot be ruled out. Similar conditions are forecast for May 10 and 11, with chances of light rain or thundershowers at isolated locations.
Advisory:
In view of the expected inclement weather, farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural operations between May 3 and 5 to avoid potential losses due to rain, hailstorms, and strong winds.(KINS)
