BJP Leader Sunil Sharma hails creation of separate Railway Division in Jammu

Jammu, Nov 16 : Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma, has welcomed the Union government’s approval of a separate Railway Division in Jammu, calling it a landmark decision that will boost connectivity and regional economic growth.

Hailing it as a historic move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, Sharma emphasized the transformative impact it would have. “This is a historic decision that reflects the Union government’s vision and commitment to making Jammu a hub of development and infrastructure,” he stated.

Sharma highlighted that the new Railway Division would enhance passenger services, improve infrastructure, and streamline railway operations. He added that it would also create employment opportunities and substantially contribute to the local economy, accelerating growth in the region.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the BJP, Sharma acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, J&K BJP President Sat Sharma, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, and MP Jugal Kishore in advancing transformative projects for Jammu and Kashmir.

“All BJP legislators have wholeheartedly thanked the Union government for prioritizing the development needs of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sharma added.

Discussing broader railway initiatives, he highlighted the ongoing project to connect Kashmir with the rest of India. “Very soon, the entire Union Territory will be linked to Kanyakumari, creating a seamless travel network across the nation,” Sharma said, noting that this would enhance travel options, boost local trade and tourism, and generate jobs for youth.

Sharma underscored that these initiatives are part of a larger vision to modernize Jammu and Kashmir’s infrastructure and position it as a hub for growth. “The approval of this Railway Division is yet another milestone in the journey towards transforming the region into a hub of opportunity and prosperity,” he concluded.

The decision has been widely lauded as a pivotal step in the Union government’s ongoing efforts to integrate Jammu and Kashmir into India’s national developmental framework.
