Srinagar, Dec 12 (KINS):Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), holds fateh khawani (tribute prayers) for prominent Muslim figures in its Srinagar headquarter.
As per the party insiders, the fateh khawani, which has never been seen in Congress before, was led by JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra.
News agency KINS reported that the tribute ceremony, which took place today at the Congress headquarters in Srinagar, commemorated the death anniversaries of former Chief Ministers GM Sadiq, Syed Mir Qasim, besides former minister GM Mir Lasjan.
“During the ceremony, religious rites were performed, including a Quran recitation and dua maghfirat,”
Speaking about the significance of this fateh khawani, Tariq Hameed Karra told news agency KINS, “ I was told that it was the first-ever fateh khawani for Muslim leaders at Congress headquarter, reflecting our respect and acknowledgment for their contributions to Jammu and Kashmir. We believe it’s important to honor their legacy in this meaningful way.”
Senior Congress leader Abid Kashmiri stated that today’s fateh khawani for these Muslim leaders was a step toward bridging communities and fostering respect within the party and the wider society.”
The fatah khawani was also attended by the former Union Minister and a prominent figure in Congress, Safidin Soz, who delivered a speech, highlighting the importance of unity among all communities, and praising the party for this thoughtful initiative.(KINS)
