SIA cracks down on “Kashmir Fight” terror threats targeting migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees

Jammu, Dec 23 (KINS): In a major breakthrough against cyber-terrorism, the State Investigation Agency (SIA), Jammu, has filed a chargesheet against operatives linked to the “Kashmir Fight” social media handle, operated by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proscribed terrorist organization.
Police in a statement said that the platform was allegedly used to issue threats aimed at spreading fear among migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees and creating unrest.
The investigation was launched in February 2024 after a series of threatening posts appeared on the “Kashmir Fight” social media platform. SIA’s probe led to the arrest of Farhaan Muzaffar Mattoo, a resident of Srinagar, accused of gathering and sharing sensitive information about targeted employees. Mattoo allegedly used encrypted communication channels to pass critical data to handlers in Pakistan, who then disseminated threats through the platform.
The chargesheet also identifies Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad, alias Sajjad Gul, a Srinagar resident now operating from Pakistan, as the mastermind behind the campaign. Sajjad is accused of orchestrating the intimidation campaign to destabilize communal harmony and disrupt peace in the Union Territory.
The filing of the chargesheet underscores the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police and SIA to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. The agency’s efforts highlight its resolve to dismantle terror networks exploiting digital platforms to sow fear and division.
The chargesheet was submitted today before the Hon’ble 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu.(KINS)
