DIG SKR Anantnag reviews security & operational preparedness in Awantipora

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KINS): Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range (SKR), Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, visited Police District Awantipora to review the security situation and winter preparedness. During his visit, he chaired an operational meeting with officers from the Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
The meeting saw the participation of senior officers, including the Commander of 01 Sector RR, DIG CRPF SKOR, SSP Awantipora, Commanding Officers of Army 42 RR, 55 RR, 50 RR, and 03 RR, as well as Commanding Officers of 130 BN CRPF, 185 BN CRPF, 180 BN CRPF, 110 BN CRPF, and other officers from Police Awantipora.
SSP Awantipora opened the session with a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security scenario and operational readiness, highlighting recent crime patterns in the region.
DIG SKR directed the officers to reassess current strategies and implement proactive measures to prevent potential terror incidents. The discussions emphasized the following: Reinforcement of Area Domination: Revisiting and strengthening patrols and surveillance. Enhanced Operations: Intensifying cordon and search operations (CASOs) and focusing on actionable intelligence inputs, especially in highway-adjacent areas.
Strategic Checkpoints: Establishing checkpoints at inter-district boundaries to bolster security. Countering Threats: Keeping anti-social elements and terror associates out of circulation and neutralizing their activities effectively.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to enhance anti-terror operations and adopt robust security measures to ensure peace and stability in the region.(KINS)
