Jaundice in Qazigund: Situation under control, no need to panic: BMO

Qazigund (Kulgam), Jan 30: The situation in Khahgund area, which falls under the medical block of Qazigund, where ten people have tested positive for jaundice, is under control, and there is no cause for panic, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Special teams of experts are actively monitoring the situation on the ground.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund, Dr. Nighat Nasreen, assured that the situation is fully under control and emphasized that there is no need to panic. “A combined team of experts from the health department is working on the ground, and they have collected samples, but the report on the cause of jaundice in the area is still awaited,” she told news agency KINS.
Dr. Nasreen mentioned that the screening process is ongoing, and so far, 10 people have tested positive for jaundice in the area.
“The situation is under control as all the patients are stable and recovering well,” she added.
She urged both authorities and residents to ensure safe water and sanitation practices to prevent further infections.(KINS)
