MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar raises concerns over healthcare and contractor payments in Assembly

Srinagar, Mar 5 (KINS): MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar highlighted two key public interest issues in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, focusing on healthcare accessibility and pending contractor payments under MPLADS (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme).

Demand for Better Ambulance Services in Zakoora, Faqir Gujri & Khimber

Raising concerns over emergency healthcare accessibility, Sagar questioned the government on the availability of ambulance services in the remote areas of Zakoora, Faqir Gujri, and Khimber.

In response, the government provided the following assurances:

Zakoora & Khimber will soon receive ambulances under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).

Faqir Gujri already has an ambulance, with an additional Critical Care 4×4 ambulance expected soon.

A Critical Care (108) ambulance has been stationed at Darbagh Harwan to address emergency cases in the region.

Sagar welcomed these developments, stressing that timely ambulance services are vital for saving lives in remote and hilly areas.

Pending Contractor Payments Under MPLADS

The Hazratbal legislator also raised concerns over the non-payment of dues to contractors under MPLADS, despite completion of formalities for partial payments.

Sagar questioned the selective withholding of funds and urged the government to apply codal formalities uniformly to ensure fairness. He vowed to pursue the issue during the cut motion to secure justice for affected contractors.

Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, MLA Salman Sagar assured residents that he would continue to fight for transparency, accountability, and better governance.(KINS)
