BJP MLA R S Pathania stages walkout over alleged bias in J&K Assembly

Jammu, Mar 18 (KINS): BJP MLA R S Pathania walked out of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday, alleging bias after being denied the chance to speak during the Budget Session.

Pathania said he attempted to raise a question listed in the day’s business during Question Hour, but Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather did not allow him to proceed, stating that his name had already been called earlier when he was absent. Pathania explained that he was delayed due to a traffic jam, citing poor traffic management.

Accusing the Speaker and the Assembly Secretariat of deliberately excluding his questions from the House proceedings, Pathania expressed frustration, saying, “Every MLA is allowed to raise 10 questions in both starred and unstarred formats. Only one of my questions was included, while 19 remain pending, with just seven days left in the session.”

In protest, the BJP MLA staged a walkout, calling the decision unfair and alleging a biased approach in handling Assembly proceedings.(KINS)
