Spl Judge NIA Raja Tasleem Abbas from Srinagar passes away

Srinagar Mar 19 (KINS): Raja Mohammad Tasleem Abbas Khan, Additional District and Sessions Judge, passed away Thursday night, at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi.

He was 57. Raja Tasleem, had been undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments at the ILBS for the last several days. His untimely demise comes at the peak of his career, leaving his friends and admirers in deep shock.

Hailing from Botraj clan of Nagar princely state, Raja Tasleem assumed charge as the Special Judge for UAPA cases in Baramulla last year following a successful stint as Chief Judicial Magisterate, Anantnag and later Srinagar. His tenure was marked by his commitment to justice and his efforts to uphold the rule of law in the region.

He played a crucial role in adjudicating sensitive cases, earning immense respect for his honesty, upright attitude, and professional integrity. His fearless and fair approach made him a widely admired figure in the judiciary and beyond.

Beyond his judicial responsibilities, Raja Tasleem was known for his humility, sincerity, and dedication to public service. His colleagues, the legal fraternity, and the community at large remember him as a person of integrity and high moral standards. His passing has left a deep void, with tributes pouring in from across the region, acknowledging his significant contributions to the judiciary.

Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by his family and he will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Botraj Mohalla, Inside Kathi Darwaza.
