SMC Commissioner Reviews Swachh Survekshan 2024 Preparations
Srinagar, April 2 (KINS)– Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed, IAS, conducted a comprehensive review meeting today to assess the city’s preparedness for Swachh Survekshan 2024. The session was attended by the Joint Commissioner (Administration), Secretary SMC, and other senior officials.
Dr. Owais emphasized the importance of maintaining high cleanliness standards across Srinagar, stressing that Swachh Survekshan is not just about rankings but about fostering a sustainable and hygienic urban environment. He reviewed past performance indicators and underscored the need for continuous improvements in sanitation, waste management, and public awareness initiatives.
Officials were directed to implement sustainable waste disposal strategies and strengthen community engagement in cleanliness drives. Dr. Owais reiterated that a strong showing in the Swachh Survekshan would enhance Srinagar’s reputation while improving residents’ overall well-being.
