Srinagar, Apr 23 (KINS): National Conference (NC) leader Tanvir Sadiq expressed deep anguish over the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of several innocent civilians and left many injured. Calling the attack a “barbaric and senseless act of brutality,” Sadiq said such violence has no place in a civilized society and must be condemned in the strongest terms.
“We mourn the precious lives lost. Our hearts go out to the bereaved families. We share in your grief and stand by you in this dark hour,” Sadiq said in a statement.
As a gesture of support and solidarity, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹10 lakh each for the families of those killed, ₹2 lakh for the seriously injured, and ₹1 lakh for those with minor injuries.
He further informed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the dignified transportation of the deceased back to their respective hometowns, while the injured are being given the best possible medical treatment.
Sadiq reaffirmed the region’s collective resolve against terrorism, stating, “Terror will never break our spirit. We will not rest until those responsible for this barbarity are brought to justice.”(KINS)
