PM Modi chairs high level security meet
Srinagar, May 12 (KINS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday chaired a high-level security meeting with top ministers and military leaders.
The meeting, held in the wake of escalating tensions and cross-border hostilities, included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
This was the latest in a series of strategic consultations led by the Prime Minister following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which triggered India’s military response through Operation Sindoor — a strike on terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
India and Pakistan had on Saturday announced a mutual understanding to halt all military actions — on land, sea, and air — with immediate effect. Monday’s DGMO talks were expected to focus on maintaining the fragile ceasefire and preventing further escalations.(KINS)
