Jammu-Srinagar NHW Remains Closed, Traffic Police Clarify Misleading Social Media Report

Srinagar, Dec 28 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Headquarters issued a clarification late Saturday evening regarding the status of traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
In a post on X, the Traffic Police dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting that the highway was open for traffic. According to the official update, the only vehicles currently on the road are stranded passenger vehicles between the Navyug Tunnel and Mir Bazar, which have been cleared. However, the road remains closed, and no up-traffic has been permitted towards the Kashmir Valley.
Motorists and travelers are advised to stay informed through official channels and refrain from relying on unverified sources for updates on road conditions.(KINS)
